day trip to Grand Canyon and Slide Rock Park

We had a great time at the Canyon. Everyone enjoyed the awesome view.

Some of us were brave enough to slide down the Slide Rocks.
The girls started, the boys followed. Tanks for the wonderful day.

Chuck and Ron from ShuttleU were great drivers, thanks a lot.

See you in 2 years.

Our new homes

Prescott is different from Frankfurt. When we are standing in front of our American homes we can see far, we feel the nature, we experience the open country.
Some of us enjoy it, some feel respect for the wilderness. We can't just walk down the street, take the subway down town but we can breath fresh air and our view is not limited by sky scrapers.
We enjoy sharing our homes with dogs, cats and chickens. Some of us always wanted a pet but were not allowed to keep one. They can be happy here.

Our visit on Alpaca Farm, Prescott Valley

Angelina stays on Alpaca-Farm

Yesterday we went to see Angelina's host family. It is a special family because they breed alpacas and this is very unusual for us. We drove about 20 minutes to meet Angelina's host mother. She explained when and how she had started this farm. The sweet faces of these wonderful animals captivated us and the strong and wonderfully thick coat impressed us. Alpacas like to live in Arizona because it is dry and sunny. In winter it gets cold so the parasites do not survive and the animals stay healthy.

Dear hostfamilies

Dear hostfamilies,

we will arrive in Prescott between 12.30 and 1 pm (around noon).

Everybody is so exciting. We are thankful to all families who are giving German students a home for such a long time. It is such a wonderful experience. The US has been my favourite country for many years and I am looking forward meeting you all on Saturday, March 20. Northpoint is the best choise for an international school exchange. Experiences from last year show how well the American students adapt to everyday life in "OLD Europe" and how well they were prepared, thanks to Melissa Wagoner and Geneva Saint-Amour, who made the exchange possible. In 2008 our German students had a blast. Specially the warmth, quality time and generosity made everyone to feel at home right away.

Greeting from unusual cold and snowy Frankfurt
